My Solo Trip Tulum, Mexico
September 2018
I’ve been traveling alone for over 20 years and I love. I’m lazy, so being able to move when I want to is everything to me. Tulum is one of my favorite places. It’s so peaceful and serene. It’s literally the Jungle, Old Country. This is a place where there’s no TV, some hotels don’t have AC, You have huge fans on the ceilings. I know you want know if there’s wifi, YES!! Lol. Tulum is where you go to getaway and leave technology behind, a place where you engage with the people around you. To move around you either walk, Bike or take a cab. You could walk up and down the strip and see Restaurants, Clothing Shops, Stores, Cafe’s and so much more. All the restaurants have excellent food, You have your expensive and inexpensive just like anywhere else. One of my faves and I will say it’s on the Pricey side was Rosa Negra, Their food is to die for. Their steak and salmon was worth every penny.
There’s many things to to do when you’re alone, you just want to be careful. On certain days I rode a bike and on others I took cabs to the excursions. The hospitality was great, they help you with pretty much everything, Especially how to get around. Some may see Tulum as being too quiet but I fell totally in love. Tulum isn’t really the place for heels depending onthe hotel. It’s surrounded by sand, you’re walking on it no matter where you go. I brought heels with me but wore flats most of the time. When I Say you’re in the Jungle, I mean you’re in the Jungle lol. But It’s beautiful. I stayed at the Hip Hotel and would definitely recommend it, It’s about an Hour from the airport. You have a choice of staying at the bottom of the strip or at the beginning. The beginning is where it gets little fancy and the hotels are more expensive. The Hip Hotel is toward the bottom but still in a great location. Definitely do your research before you go. It’s a place I will continue to vacation at and love every moment.
